ARK Undergraduate Award
The ARK Undergraduate Award was launched in 2023, and is based in Ulster University (UU) and Queen's University Belfast (QUB). The Award recognises innovative undergraduate research that effectively uses ARK resources. It also celebrates undergraduate students’ achievements in social research methods and their understanding of the social policy context of Northern Ireland.
There are two £100 awards each academic year, reflecting the curriculum of of undergraduate Social Sciences degrees at UU and QUB:
- Best undergraduate dissertation within the School of Applied Social and Policy Sciences, UU
- Best Single Honours dissertation with the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work, QUB
Criteria
The dissertations must incorporate and reference at least five pieces of ARK material, for example,
- · Analysis of ARK survey data
- · Incorporation of ARK survey data in literature review, introduction or discussion
- · Citation and discussion of ARK reports and publications
