Newry & Mourne District Council Elections, 1993 - 2005

Also Featuring 2003 By-Election

In light of the major gains Sinn Fein made here in 2001 some were expecting further in-roads. In the end Sinn Fein did not gain any additional seats but did see their overall vote increase by almost 3%. The big news of the election was the breakthrough of the Green Party candidate in Crotlieve. This is the first time the Green Party will be represented on the council.
