Larne Borough Council Elections 1993-2005

Also Featuring 2004 By-Election

No change on Larne Borough Council with all parties retaining their 2001 seat tallies. Neck and neck with the UUP in 2001, the DUP have now pulled ahead, increasing their vote total by over 6%. The DUP also won the East Antrim parliamentary seat which includes the council area.

NB The DUP got precisely one more first preference than the UUP in Larne as a whole in 2001 - 3985 votes to 3984.

A change in legislation in 2001 made it impossible to run as an "Independent Unionist", so a number of "Independent" candidates in 2001 would have preferred to be described as "Independent Unionists".
