You can find out about new data and events below, and there will be further updates next month. This month's newsletter also highlights recent developments with CAIN and the ARK Ageing Programme.

2020 Northern Ireland Life & Times survey

Since 1998, the Northern Ireland Life & Times (NILT) survey has recorded the attitudes of people across Northern Ireland to key social issues affecting their lives. The 2020 survey provides an important record of public opinion and behaviour during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The data and tables of results from the 2020 NILT survey will be made available on the NILT website on 10 June. Topics included coercive control, Brexit, COVID-19, criminal justice system, and attitudes to different groups living in Northern Ireland.

An event to launch the 2020 findings will focus on coercive control - see below.

CAIN: new section on John Hume

CAIN: new section on John Hume
John Hume: Speeches, Statements, and Articles is a new section on CAIN, which contains a selection of John Hume's speeches, statements and published articles during his political career (1969-2004).

The idea for the John Hume resource on CAIN began with a donation of paper documents by Professsor Sean Farren. CAIN is also grateful to the SDLP and Pat Hume for permission to make the materials available on CAIN.

The work on this project was supported by an award from the Reconciliation Fund, Department of Foreign Affairs.
