Description:

The aims of the this Northern Ireland schoolboy survey were to:

  • gather self-reported information about the nature and frequency of acts of defacement and destruction of housing and neighbourhood facilities;
  • examine the motivations leading to such destruction;
  • investigate background factors which may be important in predicting destructive attitudes and behaviour.

The survey was conducted among all the third and fifth year secondary schoolboys present at schools on the days of interviews in the Greater Craigavon area of Northern Ireland [Lurgan, Brownlow and Portadown] - 1080 boys took part.

 
Results:
Tables of results are available for each question in the survey, consisting of a frequency table, and crosstabulations by class/year of pupil, and by religion. Click on the link below to access these tables, as well as the question wording.
