The ARK Ageing Programme team (Elizabeth, Sarah, Gillian, Paula, Alexandra and Gemma) attended the BSG conference, held at the seaside location of Swansea University Bay campus.<\/p>\n

Gemma chaired a session focusing on arts and gerontology, which included her paper ‘The Lively Project: using material objects to commuicate the lived experience of longevity’.<\/p>\n

Paula gave a paper ‘Building a multidisciplinary research programme in ageing: reflections of an accidental gerontologist’.<\/p>\n

Elizabeth’s presentation focused on ‘Protecting participants from harm while researching vulnerable populations: Exploring the substance use of older women who have been victims of domestic abuse’.<\/p>\n

Alexandra presented a paper ‘Learning from potential future social care users in Northern Ireland’.<\/p>\n

Sarah’s paper was titled ‘Who Cares? Exploring the current policy framework for social care in Northern Ireland prisons’.<\/p>\n
