{"id":160,"date":"2014-06-11T17:04:24","date_gmt":"2014-06-11T16:04:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ark.ac.uk\/ap\/?page_id=160"},"modified":"2018-05-21T09:33:19","modified_gmt":"2018-05-21T08:33:19","slug":"vfellow","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ark.ac.uk\/ap\/people\/vfellow\/","title":{"rendered":"vfellow"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Visiting Fellows<\/h5>\n<div style=\"height: 1px; width: 320px; background-image: url('\/img\/lines\/1pxgraydots.gif');\"><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An exciting part of the ARK Ageing Programme is our Visiting Fellows Scheme.<\/p>\n<p>This Scheme allows us to invite appropriate experts to either Queen&#8217;s University Belfast or Ulster University for a visiting fellowship, with the aim of sharing their insights and experience.<\/p>\n<p>Our first Visiting Fellow was <strong><a title=\"Nancy Henkin\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ark.ac.uk\/ap\/people\/vfellow\/henkin\/\">Nancy Henkin<\/a>,<\/strong> who is founder and Executive Director of the <a href=\"http:\/\/templeigc.org\" target=\"_blank\">Intergenerational Center<\/a>, Temple University, Philadelphia.\u00a0 Nancy visited the ARK Ageing Programme in autumn 2014, and worked with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centreforip.org.uk\/northern-ireland\">Linking Generations<\/a> and other organisations.\u00a0 For information on the activities and events during Nancy&#8217;s visit, <a title=\"Nancy Henkin\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ark.ac.uk\/ap\/people\/vfellow\/henkin\/\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Sue Yeandle\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ark.ac.uk\/ap\/people\/vfellow\/sue-yeandle\/\">Sue Yeandle<\/a><\/strong> is Director of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sociology.leeds.ac.uk\/research\/circle\" target=\"_blank\">Centre for International Research on Care Labour and Equalities<\/a> (CIRCLE) in the University of Leeds (now University of Sheffield).\u00a0 Sue&#8217;s visit was from 1st to 12th June 2015,\u00a0 to coincide with Carers&#8217; Week.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"John Williams\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ark.ac.uk\/ap\/people\/vfellow\/john-williams\/\">John Williams<\/a><\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aber.ac.uk\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of Aberystwyth<\/a>) was our Visiting Fellow in October 2015, and his activities focused on human rights and older people.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Dominic Campbell\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ark.ac.uk\/ap\/people\/vfellow\/campbell\/\">Dominic Campbell<\/a><\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.creativeageinginternational.com\/\">Creating Aging International<\/a>) worked with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.derryplayhouse.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Playhouse<\/a> (Derry\/Londonderry), in May and October 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ark.ac.uk\/ap\/people\/vfellow\/hagestad\/\">Gunhild Hagestad<\/a><\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hioa.no\/eng\/About-HiOA\/Centre-for-Welfare-and-Labour-Research\/NOVA\" target=\"_blank\">Norweigian Social Science (NOVA<\/a>) visited in October 2016, and gave two events focusing on &#8216;bookend generations&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Anna Tarrant\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ark.ac.uk\/ap\/people\/vfellow\/anna-tarrant\/\">Anna Tarrant<\/a><\/strong> (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lincoln.ac.uk\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of Lincoln<\/a>) was a Visiting Fellow in June 2017.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ark.ac.uk\/ap\/people\/vfellow\/intergenerational-mentoring\/\"><strong>Alistair Wilson<\/strong> and <strong>Katie Hunter<\/strong><\/a> (University of Strathclyde <a href=\"https:\/\/intergenerationalmentoring.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Intergenerational Mentoring Network<\/a>) will be visiting in June 2018.<\/p>\n<p>For information about our Visiting Fellows Scheme, <a title=\"Details on visiting fellow scheme\" href=\"\/ap\/people\/vfellow\/vfellowscheme\/\">click here<\/a><\/p>\n<div id=\"themify_builder_content-160\" data-postid=\"160\" class=\"themify_builder_content themify_builder_content-160 themify_builder\">\n    <\/div>\n<!-- \/themify_builder_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Visiting Fellows &nbsp; An exciting part of the ARK Ageing Programme is our Visiting Fellows Scheme.
