Modern methods of farming mean it now takes less land to produce the same amount of food. Please say how much you are in favour of or against each of these ways of paying famrers to use their spare land. Remember that if this happenened on a large, scale, income tax or VAT might have to go up to meet the costs.
Paying farmers to 'set aside' spare land for forestry and timber.
