Description:

Both the Northern Ireland Social Attitudes Survey which ran from 1989 to 1996 and the Northern Ireland Life and Times Survey which began in 1998 monitored attitudes to community relations. Many of the same questions were asked year on year and the results are summarised and presented here as a time-series.
Carried out immediately after the Northern Ireland Assembly elections, the Northern Ireland Referendum and Election Study (1998) and the Northern Ireland Assembly Elections Study (2003) were designed to measure attitudes and behaviour at those elections.

In 2004, with funding from The Nuffield Foundation, a specialist dataset was created, pooling subsets of data from the surveys highlighted above.
