Strategic and Operational Plans

Purpose of the Plan

ARK’s strategic plan is a mechanism to assist and inform staff and management in directing and managing the organisation over the period covered by the plan. The plan incorporates mechanisms for review and reorientation to take account of shifts in the context or circumstances of ARK’s work. The operational plan is a more detailed annual plan, which specifies in greater depth how the strategic plan will be implemented in any given year.

Methods of Planning

ARK will conduct its planning and evaluation processes both internally, using its own staff resources, and will also periodically employ external assistance where appropriate. Planning and evaluation is perceived as an ongoing process, and one in which the input of the entire staff team is involved.

ARK has undergone two external evaluations, in 2001 and 2005. Both these evaluations were undertaken by Brian Harvey Social Research. The ARK Ageing Programme is undergoing continuous evaluation throughout its timespan (2013-2016). PDF versions of the reports are available below.
